Municipal Band Concerts Begin Thursday
Ames Municipal Band will perform its first free concert of the season Thursday at the Bandshell.

The first Ames Municipal Band concert of the season is Thursday at Bandshell Park.
The Oompah Meisters German Band will provide pre-show entertainment beginning at 7 p.m. The Ames Municipal Band conducted by Michael Golemo will perform at 8 p.m.
The opening night will feature a vocalist Aaron Lott and a trumpet soloist James Bovinette. The program includes “A Galop to End all Galops”, “Believe Me, If All Those Endearing Young Charms”, “Hollywood Milestones” “I Feel A Song Comin' On” and more.
All Municipal Band concerts are free. Participants are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs.
June 13's pre show entertainment includes a performance by the Robert Thomas Dancers and a “Flag Day” presentation by the Ames Elks Lodge and Boy Scout Troop #196.
