Iowa State v. West Virginia Final Results: Big 12 Basketball

The Iowa State Cyclones faced the West Virginia Mountaineers in the men's last game of the regular season Saturday.

Update at 2:48 p.m.

Iowa State has defeated West Virginia, 83-74, in a road game in Morgantown, WV, that should pave a clear path for the Cyclones to reach the NCAA Tournament and be part of the March Madness later this month.

The Cyclones had been close to the prevurbial "bubble" of teams that may or may not make the tournament, but this should make the 21-10 squad a lock.

The Iowa State Cyclones men's basketball team will play its last regular game of the season in a match up against the West Virginia Mountaineers on Saturday. The game will air locally on the ABC affiliate and can also be streamed online through ESPN.

What Sports Illustrated said about the game:

The Cyclones, who are 16-1 at home, finish the regular season on the road against West Virginia on Saturday. Though Iowa State is in much better shape for the postseason after beating the Cowboys, it might need to beat the Mountaineers to ensure they don't have another home game this season - in the NIT.

West Virginia Illustrated doesn't seem too hopeful about a Mountaineer win:

In a regular season that has been very disappointing for everybody involved with the WVU basketball program, they want to end it on a solid note going into the Big 12 Tournament in Kansas City.  A win against a solid Iowa State squad could do that.
