Boone High Evacuated and Boone Schools Placed On Lockdown
Boone High School was evacuated after a fire alarm went off Monday afternoon. All other schools were placed on a lockdown as a precaution.

Boone High School was evacuated about 1:30 p.m. Monday, after a perceived threat, according to media reports.
One report said a fire alarm had gone off and another said that the school received an email about an intruder in the building. Students were evacuated to the YMCA while law enforcement searched through the building.
The district's superintendent told KCCI, that they had received a note about an intruder and that a fire drill was underway.

WHOTV.Com reported that the fire drill and email were not connected. All other schools were placed on lockdown as a precaution.
Staff at the Boone County Sheriff's Office expected a release to be placed on its website later today. A woman working at the Boone County Family YMCA declined to offer any information.
