Nominations Accepted for Ames Humanitarian Award

Do you know someone who has worked to promote diversity, fairness and equality in the community?

The Ames Human Relations Commission is looking for a worthy individual whose contributions to promote diversity, fairness and equality in the community have demonstrated extraordinary quality.

Nominations for the annual Humanitarian Award will be accepted through Dec. 21. The recipient of the award will be recognized during the city-wide celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., on Jan. 21 at the Ames Middle School.

β€œWe know there are many people working every day to encourage fairness and equality in our community,” said Aaron Fultz, chairman of the Human Relations Commission, in a release from the city. β€œThe Humanitarian Award recognizes those efforts and brings attention to that important work.”

The Humanitarian Award application is available on the City’s website at http://www.cityofames.org/index.aspx?page=459.
