The public is invited to attend a reception for outgoing Parks & Recreation Director Nancy Carroll.

AMES, Iowa – The public is invited to attend a farewell reception for Parks and Recreation Director Nancy Carroll from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Jan. 31, at the Community Center Gymnasium, 515 Clark Ave. Their will be a brief program at 2 p.m.Β 

Carroll will begin her new job in February as the Director of Fund Development for BILD International, a non-profit organization that trains church leaders around the world. She joined the City of Ames in 1985 as the aquatics supervisor and was named director of Parks and Recreation in 1991.Β 

During Carroll’s tenure, the City of Ames developed many recreational amenities including Ada Hayden Heritage Park, the Ames/ISU Ice Arena, the Skate Park, Ames Dog Park, and the Furman Aquatic Center.Β
