(Photos) Ames Police Release Photos in Hit and Run Case Involving Ames Skateboarder

Ames police are still seeking information in the case.

Ames police are still seeking information from an on Sunday.

Police released picture of the vehicle they believe is involved from surveillance footage. The vehicle is believed to be a 1998 to 2001, silver or lighter colored four door Honda Accord styled car, according to police.

Police say there may be damage to the passenger side of the vehicle and possibly a cracked windshield.

According to police, the incident occurred on Sunday, April 1, at 8:04 p.m. Police responded to a personal injury accident on Hayward Avenue at Chamberlain Street. Police say that Tyler Clark, 22, of Ames, was on a skateboard traveling north on Hayward Avenue at Chamberlain Street.

An unidentified vehicle, which was traveling south on Hayward Avenue attempted to turn left (east) onto Chamberlain Street which resulted in the victim (Clark) striking the passenger side and windshield of the vehicle.  The vehicle than fled the scene eastbound on Chamberlain Street.

The attached photos were obtained from a video surveillance camera in the area and shows what is believed to be the suspect vehicle leaving the area.  The photos were reviewed by area car dealerships and it is believed to be a 1998 – 2001, silver or lighter colored four door Honda Accord styled car.

The vehicle may have minor to moderate front passenger side damage and possibly a cracked windshield.
