Police: 'Jimmy John's Jake' Implicated in Assault, Charged With Marijuana Possession
An arrest warrant served on one man brought additional charges when officers smelled marijuana in the home.

A man referred to as "Jimmy John's Jake" in criminal complaints found himself in double trouble when police serving an arrest warrant for assault smelled marijuana in his home.
People interviewed by Ames police told them "Jimmy John's Jake" punched another man in the lip outside DG's Taphouse in September, according to complaints.
Police identified that man as Jacob Eklund, 37, of Grand Avenue, and served a warrant for the assault charge on Nov. 10.Â

When police arrived, they said they smelled marijuana coming from the man's home. Police found a jar containing a green leafy substance and other paraphernalia, complaints stated. Eklund was charged with assault causing bodily injury, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
