
A 19-year-old Ames man faces two felony drug charges, after police were called to a reported fight outside his Delaware Avenue apartment early Sunday, June 9, according to complaints.
Ames police were told that about 40 people were fighting in the 1500 block of Delaware Avenue and were told that a person inside an apartment had aimed a gun at the neighbors, complaints said. Police detained the people inside the apartment and obtained a search warrant and found 4.45 ounces of marijuana, plastic bags, a large amount of cash and a scale in 19-year-old Daijon J. Stokes' bedroom, complaints said.

Stokes was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver marijuana, a Class D felony, possession of paraphernalia and a drug tax stamp violation, a Class D felony. Class D felonies are punishable by up to five years in prison.
