Police Seize 2 Pounds of Marijuana in Search

A 21-year-old Ames man faces two felonies and other charges after police discovered more than 960 grams of marijuana in his home on April 4, complaints said.

Police officers warning Campustown residents about the dangers of out-of-control VEISHEA parties seemed to stumble upon one Thursday leading to a drug bust, according to complaints.

Officers walking past a Donald Street home about 7 p.m. Thursday smelled the odor of marijuana and requested a search warrant. When officers entered the home about an hour later, officers said they saw a thick haze of smoke in the air that smelled like burnt marijuana, according to complaints. One of the other people in the home admitted to smoking marijuana with one of its residents, Shawn Greteman, complaints said.

Police found marijuana and money in amounts that indicated marijuana dealing, pipes, bong and a grinder with raw marijuana inside, complaints said.
