Powerball Jackpot Reaches $550 Million

Powerball fever has sent the jackpot even higher than first expected. Wednesday's projected jackpot has increased to $550 million.

Cindy Woodard of Ames said she sold almost 700 Powerball tickets at Almost Always Open by 2 p.m. Wednesday. She started her shift at 5 a.m.

Woodard bought four tickets herself, one for each child.

“I would buy a house, buy a car and definitely donate some,” Woodard said.

Tickets are for sale right up until 8:59 p.m.
