Republicans for Vilsack Announced in Race Against Congressman King
Christie Vilsack announced a panel of Republicans who will support her in the race for the 4th District.

Christie Vilsack's campaign announced recently a panel of 14 Republicans, including two from Ames who are supporting her in the race for the 4th District.
Vilsack faces Congressman Steve King, R-Kiron, who has represented western Iowa since 2002.
The names on the list include two Ames Republicans: Kris Bell and John Even.

Recent polls suggest that Vilsack and King are neck in neck for the race and the candidates have raised a combined $6 million in the race according to the Sioux City Journal. The dollar amount breaks Congressional fundraising records in Iowa.
In 2006, Republican and Democrat candidates raised a combined $4.8 million in their race for the District 1 Congressional seat. At that time Democrat Bruce Braley was up against Republican Mike Whalen.
