The danger of flooding in Ames appears to be over for the time being.

The National Weather Service predicts that the levels of both the Squaw Creek and the Skunk River will drop through Monday.

The weekend forecast calls for sunny days and highs in the upper 60s. However there is a 50 percent chance of rain on Saturday, according to the National Weather Services latest forecast.

While flooding has been a concern, this week's rain has brought most of the state out of the drought, according to the Iowa Department of Natural Resources.

About 80 percent of the state is now drought free. The total precipitation received in 2013 to date set a new high in 141 years of records. Iowa has seen almost 19 inches of precipitation as of May 30, according to the DNR's water summary update.
