Record Ticket Sales at Jack Trice Stadium Prompt Seating Discussion

KCCI reports on plans to replace hillside seats with stadium seating on Jack Trice Stadium's south end.

Iowa State University could expand Jack Trice Stadium after breaking a season ticket sales record for the third year in a row.

The plan to close off the south end of the stadium and add more seats has been in the works for years, KCCI reported.

Cyclones.com announced earlier this week that they sold 43,000 season ticket packages.

Jamie Pollard said in the release that they expect to sell out the first four home games.

“... That is unprecedented for our program,” he said.

Hillside seating could be replaced with real seats but it will take more than sales revenue before that happens, KCCI said.

The Iowa State Cyclones will play it's first home game of the season Aug. 31 against the University of Northern Iowa Panthers.
