ISU Alum Spanier Charged in Penn State's Jerry Sandusky Child Sex Abuse Case
Former Penn State University President Graham Spanier, who has been charged in a child sex abuse scandal involving former football coach Jerry Sandusky, graduated from Iowa State University.

An Iowa State University alumnus, who has been wrapped up in a child sex abuse scandal at Penn State University, has been formally charged.
Graham Spanier had served as the president of Penn State since 1995 until being forced out after authorities filed charges against former football coach Jerry Sandusky for sexually abusing children last year.Â
Spanier was charged with conspiracy and child endangerment charges for allegedly overseeing a coverup, the report said. The Pennsylvania attorney filed the charges Thursday.

Spanier received degrees from Iowa State University. He received a master's degree in sociology in 1971 and a bachelor's in 1969, according to the school's website. He has also received honorary degrees from ISU.
