Spring Break is upon us and those who aren't lucky enough to leave Ames for a vacation can still have some fun during the week. Find a range of activities to participate in below:
Ames Public Library has closed its bookmobile from March 18 to March 22 and canceled all its regular story times like Toddler Time, Baby Talk, and Family Craft story times Monday through Friday, but it is offering:

Storyteller Maureen Korte at 10 a.m. Tuesday March 19 in the Ames City Auditorium.
Movie Matinee Ice Age 4: Continental Drift at 2 p.m. Wednesday March 20 in the Ames City Auditorium.

Movie Matinee The Lorax: 2 p.m. Friday March 22 in the Ames City Auditorium.
The library will be open regular hours next week. Children 8 and younger must have adult supervision.
The Ames Parks & Recreation community facilities offers drop in fitness classes, open gym, public skate and open pool hours through Spring Break.
Drop in Fitness Classes The City of Ames will offer a number of drop in fitness classes through Friday. All that's required is a donation of a perishable food item per class. Find a full schedule here.
Open Gym hours are from 7:30 to 9 a.m. Monday through Friday, 1:30 to 5:15 p.m. Monday, 6:45 to 9 p.m. Monday and Wednesday, 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 12:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, 1:30 to 9 p.m. Friday and 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. All children 8 and under must be supervised by an adult. Children can enter the gym for $1.
Public Swim hours at the Municipal Pool are from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and 7 to 8 p.m., Friday, March 22. Children 9 and under must be supervised by someone 16 or older. Admission ranges from $1 to $3.50.
Public Skate hours at the Ames/ISU Ice Arena are from noon to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, March 20. Children 8 and under must be supervised. Admission is $4 for children and skate rentals are $2.75.
