This fall's school board election will lack a contest. Just three men filed nomination papers to run for the Ames School Board's three open seats.

Two of three incumbent Ames school board members intend to run for re-election this September.

Board Members William Talbot and Mike Espeset as well as newcomer Tim Rassmussen filed for candidacy by the Aug. 1 deadline.

Board Member David Putz had announced that he would not seek re-election at a recent school board meeting.

The election is Sept. 10.
