Volunteer Needed for Ames Public Library Board of Trustees
Vacancy on board would expire in April 2014.

Ames Mayor Ann Campbell is seeking one volunteer to fill a vacancy on the Ames Public Library Board of Trustees.
The new trustee would fill the remainder of a term that will expire on April 1, 2014, and would be eligible to be reappointed for a three-year term.

The Ames Public Library Board of Trustees is established by state law to carry out specific duties including the control and supervision of the library. The Board of Trustees selects and purchases various items, controls expenditures, establishes rules and regulations, and authorizes the use of the library by nonresidents. Other responsibilities of the Board include determining policies to govern library programs and operations, developing long-range goals for the library, and preparing the annual budget.
Applications are available in the City Clerk’s Office, on the second floor of City Hall, 515 Clark Ave. Also, applications are available online at www.cityofames.org. The application is under “Our Government” drop down menu. Look for “Boards and Commissions.”
The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. Friday, May 17.
