Weather Cancels Opening Day of Ames Main Street Farmers' Market

Ames Main Street Farmers' Market's opening day set for Saturday has beencanceled.

Ames Main Street Farmers’ Market has canceled its opening day, Saturday, due to weather. 

“Farmers market is the traditional kick off to summer and Mother Nature would like us to start next week,” said MSCD Executive Director, Cari Hague, in a press release.

The market that features products from more than 30 vendors will now open on May 11.  A ribbon cutting will be held on that day at 9a.m.

The first 50 people to arrive at the Market and purchase an item from one of the vendors will be given a cloth Main Street Farmers bag.
