What's Open; What's Closed on Christmas
The City of Ames announced its holiday schedule.

The City of Ames announced it's holiday office hours. The Christmas closings follow below:
City Hall, 515 Clark Ave., and most City of Ames offices will be closed on Monday, Dec. 24, and Tuesday, Dec. 25, in observance of Christmas. Most City of Ames offices will also be closed Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013, in observance of New Yearβs Day.Β
The Community Center and Weight Room will be open from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. through Friday, Dec. 21. The facility will be closed Monday, Dec. 24, Tuesday, Dec. 25, and Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013. Hours are from noon to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 23 and Sunday, Dec. 30. Additional hours are from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. from Wednesday, Dec. 26, through Friday, Dec. 28. The facility will be open on Monday, Dec. 31, from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. Β Β
The Ames Public Library, located temporarily at 620 Lincoln Way (in the former Hastings building), will be closed on Monday, Dec. 24, and Tuesday, Dec. 25. Regular hours resume on Wednesday, Dec. 26. The Library will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Dec. 31, and closed Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013. Regular hours resume on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013.Β
CyRide is operating fewer trips in its service over semester break through Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013. This means shaded trips on CyRide's printed schedules will not run during this time. Moonlight Express will not operate over this entire period. In addition, there will be no CyRide service on Monday, Dec. 25 or Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013. Passengers are encouraged to consult CyRide's break schedules atΒ www.cyride.comΒ for the most current information.Β
The tipping floor at the Resource Recovery Plant, 110 Center Ave., will be open until 1 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 24. Administrative office will be closed. The entire facility will be closed on Tuesday, Dec. 25. Regular hours resume on Wednesday, Dec. 26.Β
