
Memorial Day won't be a three-day weekend for everyone.
The Ames Public Library and Bookmobile will be closed Monday as will City Hall and City offices, but Furman Aquatic Center will be open so long as the weather is good. The Furman Aquatic Center is set to open Saturday.
If you can't drive yourself or get a ride to the pool, you'll have to hop on a bicycle. CyRide, doesn't run on Memorial Day.

You'll also have to find your own way to the Ames Patriotic Counsel's Memorial Day parade that begins 10:30 a.m. at Ames City Hall. The procession will march to Ames Municipal Cemetery on Ninth Street, where a memorial service will take place at 11 a.m. In case of rain the memorial will be held at the City Hall Auditorium.
Golden Wok will be open Monday, as well as many other restaurants in town. North Grand Mall will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday. But if you want to ship a purchase, you'll have to wait a day. The U.S. Post Offices in town will be closed.

Chitty Garbage will be closed Monday and daily trash pick up will be delayed one day for the week, except for Saturday. So Friday and Saturday trash routes will both be picked up on Saturday.
