Winter Storm Q: Weather Cancellations in Ames

Winter Storm Q is on the way and cancellations have already begun.

The Ames Community School District announced at 10 a.m. that there will be no afternoon Preschool. Elementary Schools will dismiss at 1:30 p.m. Ames Middle School will dismiss at 1 p.m. Ames High School will dismiss at 1:15 p.m.

The Learning Zone at Sawyer has also been canceled for this afternoon.

Ames City Recreation: Youth 3-6th grade basketball practices held at the elementary schools have been cancelled. All classes and activities starting after 5:30 p.m. have been canceled.

The Community Center will be closing at 8 p.m. Thursday. The 7 a.m. Friday Aqua Class at Forker Pool the 8 a.m. Friday Spif strength class at the community center have been canceled.

Carver/Gilman will close testing centers at 5:30 p.m.

Ames Racquet Fitness canceled all group fitness classes after 6:30 p.m.
