Ankeny Centennial Wins State Jazz Dance Championship
The dancers also were recognized with an academic achievement award and named Character Counts Team of the Year.
ANKENY, IA — Ankeny Centennial High School's Dance team won the state title in Class VII Jazz at the 2018 Iowa State Dance Team Association state competition on Dec. 1. The team also took second place in Class IV Kick and third place in Class XIV Pom.
In addition, they earned a Distinguished Academic Achievement Award for earning a cumulative GPA more than 3.5 for the 2016-17 school year, as well as the Character Counts Team of the Year.
The dancers will be recognized for Character Counts at the basketball game on Jan. 26.
