Ankeny Diablas Help BattleCats Take Second in World Series

Three Ankeny girls helped the Nebraska BattleCats take second place in the 12U USSSA World Series (fast pitch for girls 12 and under) in Orlando at the end of July.

Peyton Daugherty, Sydney Christman, Marina Smith (Ankeny) and Mia Elliott of Des Moines competed with the BattleCats from Nebraska in the World Series.   The girls played in the Championship game which was televised on ESPN3 Live from the ESPN Wide World of Sports.  The four players are members of the 12U Diablas Softball Team.
