Ankeny Leaf Dropoff Extended Ends Wednesday

Residents may drop leaves of at no cost; assistance will be available from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

ANKENY, IA —Residential leaf dropoff has been extended in Ankeny through noon Wednesday, Nov. 22. Leaves may be taken to Prairie Ridge Aquatic Center, 1220 N.W. Prairie Ridge Drive.

The site is open for leaf disposal 24 hours a day and city crews will be available from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday to assist residents.

Leaves collected in yard waste bags are permitted and may be disposed in the containers provided. Plastic bags and other containers must be removed following leaf disposal.

City officials said residents who are unable to drop off leaves by Wednesday can still mulch or compost them on their property or bag them and place them curbside for the trash hauler to pick up in accordance with their guidelines.

No open burning is allowed in Ankeny. The leaf dropoff program is only open to residents living within Ankeny city limits.
