Operation Underwear Collects 200 Items to Date

Ankeny Kiwanis Club's Operation Underwear has collected more than 200 items for Ankeny school nurses and social workers in the first two weeks of the annual clothing drive, according to a report in the Des Moines Register, but keep the donations of children's socks, undies and sweatpants coming.

Kirkendall Public Library will house a collection bin for donations through Sept. 15; the Ankeny Community Education Office at 306 SW School St. houses a collection bin throughout the year.

Almost 1,000 items were donated last year, according to a media release.
