School Celebrations and Swimming Dogs in the Week Ahead

There's a lot of things happening in Ankeny this week, many of which you won't want to miss.

So to make your life easier, we at Patch are offering up a few must-see or do events for the week.

Yoga in the Park (Prairie)

6:30 p.m. Monday Precendence Park. Do yoga and raise funds for Miracle Park.

7:30 p.m. Tuesday. The Ankeny Democrats will meet at Wig Pen & Pizza, 2005 S. Ankeny Blvd. Rob Denson, President of DMACC, will provide a guest program.

Pooch Paddle Dog Swim

6 p.m. Tuesday, take your dog to the Prairie Ridge Aquatic Center for $5 per dog. People are allowed to accompany their pooches in the water if necessary.

Squares for Africa

2 p.m. Thursday. Kirkendall Public Library. Crochet or knit for charity in this public library program.

Tea Time

2 p.m. Friday and Sunday participate in this Tea Time for Downtown Abbey at the Kirkendall Public Library. Have a cup of tea and watch the seventh episode.

Ankeny Centennial High School Open House

1 to 4 p.m. Sunday. The Ankeny School District will celebrate its opening with an open house and ribbon cutting ceremony 1 p.m. Sunday. The official ceremony begins at 3 p.m.
