Sports of All Kinds: In the Week Ahead

There's a lot of things happening in Ankeny this week, many of which you won't want to miss.

So to make your life easier, we at Patch are offering up a few must-see or do events for the week.

Yoga in the Park (Prairie)

6:30 p.m. Monday Precendence Park. Do yoga and raise funds for Miracle Park.

7 p.m. Wednesday. This event will discuss "9 Principles needed to SPEAK and LEAD." Special guest and featured speaker will be Iowa Champion Speaker Vilma Bergstrom, one of 88 finalists competing for the World Championship of Public Speaking at the 2013 Toastmasters International Conference.  Vilma will deliver her 2 contest speeches and receive feedback from practice judges. This event is free.

Noon wednesday. 1st Annual Iowa Rush Golf Tournament And Silent Auction at the Briarwood Club of Ankeny.

8 a.m. Saturday at 1102 N. Ankeny Blvd. The 34th Annual Ankeny Family YMCA Road Race.

11 a.m. Sunday Metro Stars Basketball will be hosting tryouts at Des Moines North High School at 501 Holcomb Ave.
