Artist Speed Paints American Flag, Auctions it for $5,000 at Lt. Dan Band Concert for Taylor Morris

The concert raised funds through the Stephen Siller Tunnel To Towers Foundation and Building for America's Bravest to build a smart home for Taylor Morris.

In case you missed the Gary Sinise and the Lt. Dan Band concert in Cedar Falls Saturday, here's one notable moment from the start of the show.

Artist Scott LoBaido, who earlier last week finished a giant American flag mural on the roof of the Amvets Post 49, did a speed painting of the American flag. He started and finished the painting while Daniel Rodriguez, aka "The singing policeman," sang "America the Beautiful."

The painting, which had a surprise finish, was then auctioned off, on the spot, to an audience member for a whopping $5,000.

The auction, and the rest of the concert, raised funds through the Stephen Siller Tunnel To Towers Foundation and Building for America's Bravest to build a smart home for local veteran Taylor Morris in Cedar Falls.

Morris, an explosives detection expert with the U.S. Navy, lost parts of all four limbs when he stepped on an improvised explosive device while serving in Afghanistan.
