The Black Hawk County 4-H/FFA Fair kicks off Tuesday at the National Cattle Congress fairgrounds. Here is today's schedule: 6:45 p.m. Rabbit Hopping-Pepsi Pavilion, 7 p.m. King & Queen, County Council Introductions-Pepsi Pavilion, 7:30 p.m. Fashion Revue Style Show-Pepsi Pavilion. Beginning Painting with Acrylics Classes at Hartman Reserve. Riley Martin, 2013 Hartman Artist-In-Residence, is offering classes to beginning artists. Classes for youth and adults will be held at Hartman Reserve Nature Center on July 23 and August 13. Register for one or both days. Classes for children ages 5-15 will be from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Classes for adults and teens age 16 and up will be from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Register for classes by calling the Nature Center at 319-277-2187. There is a $5 fee for each class. All art supplies are furnished, courtesy of a program partnership with University Book & Supply.
