Perfume Thief Trashes Evidence: Cedar Falls Police Blotter

A Waterloo woman was arrested after allegedly trying to steal perfume from Dec. 7.

Police said Sonya Lanette Harmon, 38, was confronted by store employees after she allegedly left Von Maur with perfume concealed in her purse. Harmon then reenterd the store and went into the restroom, police said. Officers who checked the restroom found Womanity-brand perfume valued at $100 in the trash and later also found Vera Wang-brand perfume valued at $92 in the trash. 

Harmon was charged with third degree theft and criminal trespass. The criminal trespass charge came because police said Harmon had stolen from Von Mauer in 2001 and at that time was served a lifetime ban from the store.

Kristy Lynn Herbrandson, female, 29, of Waterloo, arrested at 4:49 p.m. at 6301 University Ave., charged with fifth degree theft.

Katherine Augusta McCleish, female, 22, of 615 W. 20th St., arrested at 8:38 p.m. at 220 Clay St., charged with false report - comm center.

Dec. 6:

Daniel Dale Asche, male, 38, of 2415-2 W. Fourth St., arrested at 9:40 a.m. at 300 Main St., charged with criminal trespass.

Jaevon Tremere Holmes, male, 17, of Waterloo, arrested at 12:39 p.m. at the Black Hawk County Sheriff's Office, charged with assault without intent of injury.

Dec. 7:

Derek Alan Steffens, male, 21, of 715 W. 20th St., arrested at 12:40 a.m. at the 800 block of Grove Street, charged with consumption in public/intox.

Dec. 9:

Nicholas Aaron Motalo, male, 30, of Myrtle Beach, SC, arrested at 6:08 a.m. at 1613 Linda Drive, charged with assualt domestic aggravated and simple assualt. 

Austin Tyler Sorg, male, 27, of 103 Olive St., arrested at 2:56 p.m. at the 900 block of West 22nd Street, charged with failure to appear criminal.

Dec. 10:

Nicholas John Addinton, male, 19, of 2103 Tremont St., arrested at 1:38 a.m. at 121 E. 15th St., charged with consumption in public/intox.

Dec. 11:

Creed Jeffrey Harkless, male, 22, of 23-F9 University Drive, arrested at 1:23 a.m. at 1919-F8 University Drive, charged with consumption in public/intox.

Michael Paul Gibson, male, 24, of 700-407 W. Ridgeway Ave., arrested at 4:07 p.m. at same location, charged with willful disturbance.
