Cedar Falls Weather Alert: Freezing Rain Expected Wednesday Night, into Thursday

The National Weather Service in Des Moines has issued a freezing rain advisory for much of the northern part of Iowa, including Black Hawk County. The advisory went into effect Wednesday afternoon and lasts until noon Thursday.

Drizzling rain will turn to ice and sleet as the temperature drops Wednesday evening.

The advisory warns:

PERIODS OF FREEZING RAIN OR FREEZING DRIZZLE WILL CAUSE TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR SLIPPERY ROADS. SLOW DOWN AND USE CAUTION WHILE DRIVING.
