A Memorial Day Parade will begin at 10:30 a.m. in downtown Waterloo, followed by an 11 a.m. ceremony at Veterans Memorial Hall at West Fifth Street and the Cedar River.
The parade route will be Commercial Street from West Fifth Street to Park Avenue, Park to Mulberry Street, Mulberry to Fifth Street and Fifth to Memorial Hall.
A cannon salute by Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War and a reading of the names of Waterloo veterans who have died since last Memorial Day will be included. There will also be a waterfront ceremony commemorating those lost at sea by veterans auxiliaries, as well as an honor guard and the playing of taps.
