Flash Flood Information for Black Hawk County Residents

Did your property experience flash flooding? Read this.

Information release from the City of Cedar Falls:

The Black Hawk County Emergency Management Agency is providing information to help residents of Black Hawk County with the flash flooding.

Emergency Management is strongly encouraging residents of Black Hawk County affected by this event to report their damage to United Way 2-1-1.

Residents may call 2-1-1 from any home phone or 1-866-469-2211 from a cellular or business phone seven days a week from 8 a.m. to – 8 p.m. beginning Thursday. This information will assist Emergency Management in obtaining damage assessment information in order to determine the need for State resources for Black Hawk County. Residents will not receive assistance at this number rather only report damage.

In addition, the American Red Cross has clean-up kits available at the Red Cross office at 2530 University Avenue in Waterloo from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Residents of Waterloo can pick up sandbags at 1601 Black Hawk St. in Waterloo. Residents of Cedar Falls can pick up empty sandbags at the Recycling Transfer Station on State Street, or after hours at the main Fire Station at 18th and Main Streets.
