Flood Warning Issued for Cedar River in Black Hawk County; Flooding Impacts George Wyth
The river is forecast to rise to flood stage early Friday morning and to continue rising on Saturday.

The National Weather Service out of Des Moines has issued a flood warning for the Cedar River in Cedar Falls until early Monday morning.
At 3:45 p.m. Thursday the stage was 86.5 feet, 1.5 feet below the 88 foot flood stage.
No flooding is currently occurring, and moderate flooding is forecast.
The river is forecast to rise to flood stage early Friday morning and to continue rising to 91.7 feet, 3.7 feet above flood stage, on Saturday morning. It is forecast to go below flood stage early Monday morning.
At  91.2 feet, water covers portions of Lake Street.
The Cedar River in Waterloo is under a flood warning until early Sunday morning.
Also in Waterloo, the George Wyth State Park campground and Brinker Lake Access will close at noon Friday due to flooding. The park will remain open for day use at George Wyth, Fisher and Alice Wyth lakes and the beach.  Â
The campground, shelters and lodge will be closed through June 18. Park users who have camping, shelter or lodge reservations will be contacted and offered a full refund.
