George Wyth State Park will once again close starting at 5 p.m. today (June 25th) due to flooding from the Cedar River.Â
The park is expected to reopen on Monday, July 1Â if there is no additional rainfall in the Cedar River watershed.

All reservations for the days affected will be offered full refunds.
In addition, the campground at Yellow River Forest in Allamakee County will be closed following extensive flood damage during the past weekend. The campground damage is currently being evaluated by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources and it is unknown at this time when it will re-open. No reservations will be taken at the Yellow River campground until at least the end of July.

The DNR will provide status updates as part of the message on the park phone system at 319-232-5505.
