Man Drowns at George Wyth State Park

Waterloo Police said the man had been swimming with friends and family when he drowned around 5 p.m. Sunday.

A man drowned at George Wyth State Park Sunday.

Waterloo Police said Salvador Quinto Amezcua, 32, of Waterloo, had been swimming on the beach with friends and family when they noticed him missing. No one witnessed him go under the water, police said. He was found under the water a short time later. 

Waterloo Police and Waterloo Fire Rescue responded to the scene just after 5 p.m. Amezcua was transported to Allen Hosital where he was found dead, police said.
