Occupy Members in Cedar Falls Explain Reasons They Protest
Candlelight vigil participants from Occupy Cedar Valley talked to Patch about a few things that motivate them to protest.
As Occupy Cedar Valley prepares to pull down its tents on Thursday, here's a look back to an Oct. 28 candlelight vigil to mourn the victims of corporate greed. Nearly 50 Occupy Cedar Valley members stood at the corner of University Avenue and Main Street for an hour on the chilly night.
At the time, protestors said they planned to stick out the cold. That has since changed, but organizers said breaking camp doesn't mean an end to the occupation. Instead of pouring energy into the camp, they will focus on events like vigils. And their reasons for protest, a few of which are described in this video, haven't changed.
