Search Continues for Person Who Disappeared While Tubing in Cedar River Sunday

A search continues Monday for a person witnesses said fell in the Cedar River while intertubing Sunday.

A search continues Monday for a person witnesses said fell in the Cedar River while intertubing Sunday.

Black Hawk County Sheriff's Deputies were sent to Black Hawk Park north of Cedar Falls Sunday at around 7:30 p.m. Witnesses at the scene said the person went under the water and did not resurface.

Efforts were made to locate the person but at this time have not been successful, authorities said. The search continues Monday morning.

The name of the missing person will be released at a later time.

Deputies were assisted by the Iowa DNR, the Cedar Falls Police Department, and the Cedar Falls Fire Department and the Black Hawk County Conservation Department.
