Updated: Police: Teen Arrested After Tweeting Threat to Blow Up Cedar Falls High School

Cedar Falls police say Kale Joshua Clay, 18, posted a bomb threat on Twitter.

Police charged a Cedar Falls teen with a felony on Monday after they say he threatened on Twitter to blow up Cedar Falls High School.

Cedar Falls police said Kale Joshua Clay, 18, of 5018 Millennium Drive, posted the threat on Feb. 19.

The Tweet read, “When I blow up the Cedar Falls High School I will be doing everyone a favor," according to a police report.

According to police reports, Clay told officers he was upset at the time and never intended to carry out the threat. Police said they found no evidence of intent to follow through with the threat during a search of Clay's home.

Clay was charged with threats to commit arson, a Class D felony.
