Police: Woman Stole Purses From Cedar Falls Church Parking Lot on Maundy Thursday

The following information was provided by the Cedar Falls Police. It does not represent a conviction.

A Waterloo woman went to church Thursday, but police said she wasn't there for Maundy Thursday services.

Police said Deborah Ann Roberts, 52, broke into vehicles in the parking lot at Nazareth Lutheran Church, 7401 University Ave., and stole three purses.

A parent dropping their child off at the church's daycare and preschool program reported their purse was stolen March 28. Roberts was later arrested, and police said she confessed to taking that purse as well as two others that had been reported stolen.
