Price Lab Building Demolition Set to Begin
Price Lab closed its doors last June. The school served as a teaching lab for college students and a K-12 school for about 350 kids who have been dispersed to local school districts.
The building that once housed Malcolm Price Laboratory School is set for demolition, possibly beginning this week.
Windows have already been removed from the building and University of Northern Iowa spokesperson Stacey Christensen said most of the building will be razed.
The Nielsson Field House and west wing will remain standing. The field house will be available for public rental, with some summer camps already scheduled there this year, Christensen said. That wing will remain in use by UNI's Child Development Center.

UNI officials cited budgetary reasons for its closure, but it caused an uproar on campus and a rift in the community, with months of protests against the decision.
