Three people have been reported dead in two explosions that rocked the Boston Marathon Monday, with over a hundred injured.

Three people have been reported dead in two explosions that rocked the Boston Marathon today, with over a hundred injured.
Cedar Falls police officer Brooke Krantz, of Waterloo, and members of the Iowa State running team including Cedar Falls brothers Joseph, Daniel and David Sevick were reported safe earlier today.

KWWL has a list of additional Iowans they have confirmed are safe. They report the following Cedar Falls and Waterloo people are safe after being in Boston during the explosions earlier today:
- Joan Burns and Paul Burns of Iowa City and Cedar Falls
- Sarah Halloran and Andrew Halloran of Cedar Falls
- Mary Jo Goerdt and Terry Goerdt (and "Cheer Crew") of WaterlooÂ
- Waterloo City Councilman Bob Greenwood
- Hannah Walsh of Cedar Falls and Chicago

Cedar Falls police officer Brooke Krantz is OK after running in the Boston Marathon, the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier has reported.
Her father Rich Carlson, of Waterloo, told the Courier he had heard from his daughter.

Three Cedar Falls brothers who were running in the Boston Marathon are safe, the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier reports, following the news of two explosions that occured near the finish line of the Boston Marathon Monday.
The Courier said Lisa Sevcik heard from her son Joseph Sevick that he and his brothers Daniel and David Sevick are safe. The three were running with the Iowa State University running club.
Joesph Sevcik posted this on Twitter: "All the Iowa State people with us are safe at the Boston Marathon. We had just left before the explosions."
The blasts occurred just before 3 p.m. eastern time, according to MyFoxBoston.
Boston Police are reporting 22 injured, two dead, according to BackBay Patch. A media briefing is scheduled for 4:30 at the Westin Hotel.

NBC News reported fire engines, police and emergency medical personnel were headed to the scene. An affiliate reporter told NBC News she heard two loud explosions, and that "everybody kind of ducked and hit the ground," and Jackie Bruno, reporter for New England Cable News said she saw people with significant injuries, including one person with a leg blown off.
"Runners were coming in and saw unspeakable horror," Bruno said. Â

Boston EMS is setting up triage on Boylston, thousands of police and emergency personnel on scene. Anyone looking for a runner is being directed by Boston Police to go to Boston Common.Â
WBZ-TV is reporting there was a fire at the John F. Kennedy Library just after the explosions. No word on if there is a connection to the explosions.Â

Buildings in the area are being evacuated including the apartments at the Prudential. All businesses along Boylston Street are being evacuated and officials are urging everyone to avoid Copley Square.

Witnesses near the explosion are being told to stay off their phones as they could trigger more bombs. Â
The Fairmount Copley Plaza Hotel is currently in lockdown.Â
