Severe Thunderstorm Warning: Quarter-Sized Hail, 60 MPH Winds Possible in Cedar Falls

The National Weather Service in Des Moines has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Western Black Hawk County and Grundy County until 4:30 p.m.

At 3:24 p.m. a severe thunderstorm was located near Grundy Center, moving northeast at 25 mph. Quarter-sized hail and 60 mph wind gusts are possible.

Torrential rainfall is occuring with this storm and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive through flooded roadways.

Black Hawk County is also under a severe thunderstorm watch until 10 p.m., a flood warning and a flashflood watch.
