Sex Offender Arrested After Tip to Cedar Valley Crime Stoppers

A criminal charge is merely an accusation and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Update from Cedar Valley Crime Stoppers:

On Feb. 4, Cedar Valley Crime Stoppers posted information about missing alleged sex offender Wesley Alan Bear, 35.

A caller to the Cedar Valley Crime Stopper hotline provided information that Bear was in Oklahoma City.

On Feb. 16, the Oklahoma City Police Department located and arrested Bear on warrants for allegedly failing to register as a sex offender in the state of Iowa.

Bear is listed as a sex offender after being charged with two counts of lascivious acts with a child stemming from June 28, 2001, in Tama. He was 17 and the victim was a female between the age of 0-13, according to the Iowa Sex Offender Registry.
