This Week in Cedar Falls Weather: Will The Rain and Clouds Ever Go Away?

A look into the forecast for Cedar Falls for the week of May 28.

It might be safe to assume most of us are ready for these clouds to depart and the sun to shine down on Cedar Falls for more than a few hours at a time.

Unfortunately, we still might not see much of it this week.

According to the National Weather Service, there's a good chance of rain every day this week through Friday, adding more soggy misery to the wet Memorial Day weekend we just came out of. Black Hawk County remains under a flood warning through Sunday.

In addition the the rain, temperatures will stay consistent in the upper 70s to lower 80s.

Here's a peek at this week's forecast:

Tuesday night: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 9pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 64. Southwest wind around 7 mph. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Wednesday: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 5pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 80. Breezy, with a south wind 7 to 12 mph increasing to 13 to 18 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 23 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Thursday: Showers and thunderstorms likely. Cloudy, with a high near 78. Breezy, with a south wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Friday: Showers and thunderstorms likely. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 78. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

Saturday: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 75.
