UNI Settles Sexual Assault Lawsuit for $50,000
A former University of Northern Iowa student said administrators responded inappropriately after she was sexually assaulted by football players.

A woman who said University of Northern Iowa administrators reacted poorly after she was sexually assaulted in her dorm room has dropped a lawsuit.
She will recieve $50,000 to drop the lawsuit, the Associated Press reported:
The woman’s lawsuit claimed UNI administrators refused to make academic accommodations, declined to move her to another dormitory and did nothing when she received harassing calls from players. She soon dropped out.

UNI football players Baylen Laury pleaded guilty to third-degree sexaul abuse and Joseph Thomas III pleaded guilty to misdemenor assualt after they assaulted the woman, an 18-year-old freshman at the time, in 2004.
