Watch This: Taylor Morris, Other Wounded Vets Reach Out to Boston Marathon Bombing Victims

Should 2 Shoulder, a business focused on helping injured veterans, produced a video demonstrating all the ways Morris and other amputees are thriving after their injuries.

An Afghan war vet from Cedar Falls, IA, who lost all or parts of all four arms and legs while serving his country, is among a group of wounded warriors reaching out to help injured survivors of the Boston Marathon bombing - many of who are also now amputees.

Cedar Falls native Taylor Morris, who suffered his injuries while serving as a Navy Petty Officer in Afghanistan, knows how hard the journey of recovery can be. But he also knows it is a journey, not an ending.

Should 2 Shoulder, a business focused on helping injured veterans, produced this video demonstrating all the ways Morris and other amputees are thriving after their injuries.

Danielle Kelly, Morris' girlfriend, wrote about their motivations to participate in the video on her blog:

After seeing devastation a week ago at the Boston Marathon we knew we wanted to do something. Taylor and a few other amputees at the hospital (Timothy Brown, Joseph Deslauriers, Johnny Joseph Jones, Mark Burleson, Mark Lytel, and James Sides) got together in hopes to reach out to the Boston injured… real talk from one amputee to another. With a secondary goal of bring awareness to the amount of help these civilian amputees will need for the rest of their lives. PLEASE WATCH but more importantly please lend a helping hand to these undeserving victims!

Here's what Should 2 Shoulder wrote about the video:

Shoulder 2 Shoulder, a Virginia-based Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), is very proud to share this video that we produced with our friends from the Wounded Warrior Community in response to the Boston Marathon Bombings.

Given the numerous amputees as a result of the bombings, we thought that it would be valuable to provide direct amputee-to-amputee perspective on dealing with initial fears, recovery strategies, and clear visceral proof that amputations do NOT preclude people from leading rich, full, and exciting lives.

We at Shoulder 2 Shoulder are inspired by the Wounded Warrior Community every day and we sincerely hope that by sharing their experience that the victims of the Boston bombings will be similarly inspired.

Special thanks to all the Wounded Warriors that participated!
