From the Eastern Iowa Airport:

United has canceled its LAST arriving flights of the day (10 pm and after) and therefore its FIRST departing flights of the morning tomorrow (they are the same plane). Delta has also canceled its LAST flight from Atlanta tonight (8:16 pm) and FIRST Atlanta departure in the morning. We anticipate this being the trend with United, Delta, and American. Note that Allegiant tends to indefinately delay flights since they do not offer daily service.

Accumulation of five to eight inches of snow is expected, with higher amounts possible in some areas. The heaviest snowfall is likely to occur along and west of Interstate 35.

In addition to the snow, the Weather Service said strong winds of 15 to 35 mph late Thursday could restrict visibility to less than 1/4 mile or less at times.

This story will be updated with snowfall totals, road conditions and other information as the storm progresses.
