- President Biden Joe Biden will visit Des Moines next week. Beyond confirming that the event will be in the city next Tuesday, The White House has released no further details. This visit will be the first time Biden has been to Iowa since before the 2020 election. (KCCI Des Moines)

- Iowa State University is making opening a new department dedicated to artificial intelligence. The school's Board of Regents voted to form the Translational AI Research and Education Center (TrAC) in a vote earlier this week. “Iowa State University has a long history of excellence in engineering, statistics, computer science, and various domain sciences that constitute the core competence of this new center,” said associate professor of mechanical engineering Soumik Sarkar, who will serve as the director of TrAC.
