Des Moines Lawyer Jailed After Domestic Assault
Sandra Suarez-Kruger was denied bail for a parole violation and violating a no-contact order.

DES MOINES, IA — A Des Moines lawyer already being considered for disbarment over past criminal and ethical conduct was jailed Tuesday night on charges of violating a no-contact order and violating her parole. Bail was denied.
Sandra Suarez-Kruger, 44, allegedly struck her husband in the face with her fist, according to The Des Moines Register.
Suarez-Kruger, previous known as Sandra Quilty, was convicted of domestic-abuse assault causing bodily injury in 2012. Her law license was suspended and she was publicly reprimanded in 2013 for the criminal conviction and in 2015 for ethical violations.

Last month Patch reported that she acknowledged committing a felony by taking money from clients and conducting a number of other ethical violations. As a result, a grievance committee for the state Supreme Court seeks to disbar her from practicing law. The committee's decision has not yet been announced.

Suarez-Kruger has been a managing partner in the Suarez Law Firm since 2012 and is president and owner of Q4 Consulting, according to online biographical information. The law firm handles immigration, family, divorce, business and mediation cases.
Suarez-Kruger remained in the Polk County Jail Wednesday morning.
